This is historically inaccurate! This is a medieval game! Homosexuality was a sin!

Well, no. Since Mount&Blade takes place in Calradia, it is a fantasy setting. It is only vaguely inspired to medieval Europe, but:
usually, when one of my companions gets an arrow stuck in their head, they DIE, not "get knocked out". Usually happens to me aswell, though until now it didn't happen, so I can't say for sure, right?
Wars dont last 2 weeks, REALISTICALLY. They last for years.
Volunteers don't grow on trees.
An hit on the head with a club can usually result in an heavy trauma, often leading to death. Not "knocked unconscious".

Also, for some cultures, homosexuality even in Medieval times, was not a sin. Believe it or not, the whole "sin" thing was made by religions for HYGIENIC reasons, like any other "sin" mentioned in the Bible or other texts: those were ANCIENT laws written for common people to not get sick or slaughter and rob everyone else. SO: no gay sex, no sea food, no touching of women when on period, no sex with animals and no random-sex. Diseases were not diagnosed back then, you died with a flu, imagine the whole sex-transmitted thing and the dirt you had back then.
